Horizon: Zero Dawn got a VR mod with first and third person modes

If there was a VR-mode for Horizon: Zero Dawn somewhere in the stash of Guerrilla Games, the developers are too late – the corresponding mod already exists. Its author is Luke Ross – the author of R.E.A.L., a modification for bringing games into VR. Apparently, earlier the enthusiast hinted at HZD.

Two modes are available to gamers: eye view and third-person. All elements of the interface are adjusted for VR use, for example, the visor scans correctly and conveniently places information for the player. Climbing in first-person view, however, can be difficult – you can’t always see what to cling to next. During dialogs and cut-scenes, the user’s viewpoint in the helmet will bounce along with the camera, as these aspects are made on the HZD engine.

To gain access to R.E.A.L. for Zero Dawn and other games the modder has managed to reach, you need to support the author on Patreon. Luke Ross’s next project will be Cyberpunk 2077 – the release of the modification is scheduled for January 2022.
